Rainbow Moonstone has a cosmic, charming sophistication when marbled with its sexy black tourmaline counterpart. The yin-yang balance makes this stone truly spectacular. Its milky translucence glimmers and often captures fleeting rays of peacock prisms, while the black holds fast, anchoring the stone. Like shards of moonlight, it promises cyclical change, stoic and resolute, aiding the crown chakra in consciousness and spirituality. Pairs well with bumblebee jasper.
Rainbow Moonstone is often called "white labradorite" as is closely related to Labradorite, a feldspar mineral with a sheen in a variety of iridescent colors. Rainbow moonstone is plagioclase feldspar with a chemical composition of sodium, calcium, aluminum, silicon, and oxygen. Both moonstone and rainbow moonstone, are feldspars. One difference is that the rainbow moonstone's adularescence includes many colors.
